About West Texas Warriors

The West Texas Warriors are an all-veteran hockey team operating under the Amarillo Veterans Hockey Association, a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

We compete in both sanctioned and non-sanctioned tournaments throughout the year, providing veterans with meaningful opportunities for teamwork, recreation, and personal growth. Hockey serves as a powerful outlet for stress relief, connection, and continued resilience after military service.

We are actively seeking sponsorships and community partners to help offset the costs of tournament fees, ice time, travel, and player equipment. These contributions directly support our veteran athletes and allow us to expand participation and maintain a high standard of competition.

The West Texas Warriors are currently pursuing affiliation with the Texas Amateur Hockey Association (TAHA) and USA Warriors Hockey, further strengthening our commitment to structured competition, veteran outreach, and national veteran sports initiatives.

By supporting the West Texas Warriors, sponsors help honor military service, empower veterans, and invest in a program that builds community, purpose, and pride through sport.

The West Texas Warriors serve active service members and honorably discharged veterans of all hockey skill levels, from beginners to experts.

Looking ahead, the West Texas Warriors plan to host the Bomb City Cup Hockey Tournament over Labor Day Weekend 2027, offering competitive Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Veteran brackets. In addition, we aim to financially sponsor veterans participating in the Adult “Learn to Play” Program starting September/October, removing financial barriers and expanding opportunities for veterans to experience the physical, mental, and social benefits of hockey.
